About Us/Our Mission:

Pella Historical Museums & Tulip Time was started in 1935 by a group of dedicated Pella citizens with a passion and vision to preserve the history of Pella. Our organization is a cornerstone in the community, preserving and telling the story of Pella's past through our museums, events, and educational programs. Pella Historical also serves a pivotal role in the community and surrounding area as the sponsor of the annual Tulip Time Festival.

Volunteer Category: Arts, History, and Culture
Requirements or Special Skills: Volunteers serving as Scholte House Guides are friendly, responsible, and knowledgeable about the Scholte family and the history of Pella - or willing to learn! Those interested will be given information packets and training.
Volunteer Position Description: The historic Scholte House Museum is the 1848 home of Pella's founder Dominie H. P. Scholte and his family. Scholte House guides open the museum, welcome guests, take money, answer questions, and occasionally give tours.
