Unlocking Freedom For Business Owners

Meet Jeremy Vos. Though Jeremy is new to Exit Factor, he’s certainly not new to Pella. A lifelong local, Jeremy and Jodi have raised four children here and are now proud grandparents.

“I began with Exit Factor in January of 2025,” Jeremy shared. “The purpose of the Exit Factor is to unlock freedom for business owners. We do this by helping them transform their companies into sellable and scalable enterprises.”

It’s a simple yet powerful mission: to help small business owners take the mystery out of the future. Whether it’s planning for retirement, scaling operations, or preparing to pass down a company, Jeremy’s work starts with one key question—where do you want to go?

“You have to know where you are going to get there,” said Jeremy. “If you have a plan, you have a much higher probability of getting to where you want to go.”

“We really focus on helping business owners get what they want out of their companies,” said Jeremy. “That could be selling the business, handing it down to family, or just finally getting some breathing room. But it all starts with a plan.”

Exit Factor equips small business owners with the tools and strategies to make informed, intentional decisions about their businesses. The journey starts with an Exit Assessment, a four-week process that evaluates the business's current standing and creates a roadmap toward a successful exit or transition. After the assessment, the plan implementation usually takes around 18 months, with a full transformation often wrapping up in about three years.

To get there, Exit Factor uses powerful financial and analytical tools that provide an accurate picture of what a business is worth today—and what it could be worth tomorrow. This includes a deep dive into 60 critical topics that have been proven to make or break a business sale. From financials to internal processes, Jeremy helps owners “button things up” to ensure they’re ready when the time comes.

“I love working with business owners,” Jeremy said. “Helping them create a clear plan and take the mystery out of their future—that’s what I love doing every day.”

One of the biggest myths Jeremy loves to bust? That exit planning is only for big businesses. In fact, Exit Factor’s sweet spot is companies with less than $5 million in annual revenue, even down to much smaller operations.

“My ideal client is any business under $5 million in annual revenue—even down to businesses bringing in $50k. Exit Factor really shines in that space,” said Jeremy. “Above $5 million, you start needing fractional CEOs and bigger teams. But below that, it’s still on the owner’s shoulders—and that’s where we can help most.”

He especially enjoys working with business owners between 25 and 50 years old. “People in their 40s and 50s still have a runway to make a succession plan. And younger folks often have a build-and-grow mindset. Both are exciting to work with.”
Jeremy’s also expanding his reach. “I’m in the process of hiring a consultant with a background in construction,” he shared. “It’s a sector that can really benefit from this kind of structured planning, and I’m excited to bring that focus to our work.”
Jeremy’s top advice? Keep an eye on the big picture—including your personal investments.

Exit Factor brings serious tools to the table. “We use financial and analytical systems that accountants and brokers across North America rely on,” said Jeremy. “And our curriculum includes over 60 key topics—things that are often deal-breakers when trying to sell a business. We go through every single one and make sure the business is buttoned up and ready.”

But for Jeremy, it’s not just about selling. It’s about giving people peace of mind. “I love working with business owners because I get to help take the mystery out of the future,” he said. “I want them to know what their business is worth now, where they want it to go, and how to get there.”

One final piece of advice from Jeremy? “Track your investments. Know what your stock portfolios, 401(k)s, and business are doing—and how they all work together,” he said. “Younger me didn’t do a great job of that. But when you understand how your investments and your business support each other, you can make smarter decisions and grow faster.”

Whether you’re just getting started or thinking about what comes next, Jeremy Vos, Exit Factor is ready to help you create a roadmap to success.
