Pella’s Trusted Team for Rentals and Real Estate: Mid North Realty

Rentals. On a daily basis, the PACE office receives a call or message asking about rental options in Pella. With the demand high, for housing in Pella, Mid North Realty and Property Management helps fill the rental needs in our area.

Nathan Smith, founding broker of Mid North Realty, along with partner Benjamin Lantz, explained their vision and work to bring more rentals to Pella.

“The business actually started several years ago by my father-in-law as he renovated houses. We took the idea and created Mid North Realty”, said Nathan.

He continued, “Our goal is to take run-down properties and turn them into something that is nice. A place that people want to live in. Our standard is that if we wouldn’t want to live in it then we aren’t renting it out. We make things both nice and affordable.”

Mid North Realty and Property Management have completed several projects, bringing much-needed rentals to Pella. Their most recent project was the overhaul and completion of Southside Flats, the previous location of the old Dutch Mill Inn. They also own and manage the Uptown Flats, Central Flats, and rentals on Fairfax Drive, all in Pella.

The best news? These guys don’t plan to slow down anytime soon. Mid North Properties purchased the old Jefferson Place building across from the hospital. They are currently remodeling the building into 24 brand-new apartments called Mid North Flats. With all of their properties, they look to keep rent under $1200/month, providing affordable options for those looking to rent in Pella. (side note: STAY TUNED! They plan to host an Open House once the project is complete).

And, the ventures of Nathan, Benjamin, and the team don’t stop there! They are currently renovating a commercial space on the square in Knoxville. They work within about a 30-mile radius of Pella, including Oskaloosa. Mid North Realty and Property Management have a close-knit team that can also assist all buyers and sellers with real estate needs, both residential and commercial. Their team also includes two additional agents Brittanie Smith and Kirsten Veenstra.

“What we really like is that we are an internal group. We hire professionals when needed but all the cosmetic work and framing on the properties we do ourselves. We have a close group that works together to make everything happen”, said Nathan. “We are looking to be long-term property owners and managers. We are always looking for more properties to renovate and create something for the community.”
